Steve Jobs

In my last semester as a college student I had to read a book about Steve Jobs and write a huge paper on it, it wasn't that fun at all. Even though I spent pretty much all semester working on this project nothing I read really was that impressive. Of course though now that he has passed I am finding things that make me think man what an inspiration. Here are two quotes that have been shared with me.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." - Steve Jobs

I am really bad at putting everything else secondary and questioning my wants. I hope that the saying above will remind me to live my own life and not the one that I think everyone wants me to live, and when I say think I mean know because people love to tell me their opinion.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you... believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.” - Steve Jobs

This one comes at a great time, because I have been questioning my work. I believe this is important work that I am doing right now but do I believe it is great work? Not so much, but that could be because I am not loving exactly what I do. I know that one day I will find it and things will be great. So basically I guess I am not ready to settle, which I have partly felt lie I had already done.

So those are my two quotes I have "found" from him and my thoughts on them.
